Traveling Tiny

Going tiny or bust! Still in the beginning stages of our tiny home village development and manufacturing company, we were chomping at the bit to minimize our dwelling and go tiny as soon as possible. So, we purchased our first tiny home, a 1997 National SeaBreeze A-Class Motorhome, 29 feet long (of course I know that technically its an RV and not a “tiny home”, but it is a tiny home to us). We were so excited, we left Seattle immediately and headed for the coast, Long Beach, Washington. After a few days, we decided to add a 5th person to the clan and picked up my mother in Eugene. 292 square feet with 3 adults and 2 children. We were in heaven. We drove north through Florence to Lincoln City, boondocking when we needed to and stopping at all of the gorgeous beaches.

Now, our second trip, or living in our tiny home, we are on our way to Yellowstone. Meeting fabulous people, seeing more sites in Oregon than I have ever seen, even though I grew up in Eugene, and learning what it means to live HomeFree. No, actual concrete foundation, but a foundation of friends, tiny community and of course zoom calls.

I have not missed my king sized bed or my large couch or the 900 square feet. I have enjoyed having just the necessities and a few extra special things and I am content. I cannot wait to see what I will see next, meet the friends I will meet next and to continue to feel this fantastic separation from consumerism and continual competition. Your home is meant to be a place of peace, and, this is definitely closer to it.

Until next time. Think BIG, live small.
